Business Development Engineer – Analytics

We are seeking a Business Development Engineer – Analytics to join our Business Development Department. In this role, you will deliver market intelligence, competitor insights, and performance reporting to guide strategic decision-making, while also leading ad-hoc data infrastructure and optimization projects to strengthen our business development capabilities.

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical capability with hands-on technical skills in data acquisition, processing, and visualization. They are equally comfortable working with industry reports and competitive intelligence as they are building ETL pipelines or developing BI dashboards. This person is detail-oriented and ensures that performance reporting reflects actual business development activity, enabling the department to make decisions based on accurate, timely information. They have a proactive mindset, spotting opportunities for process and system improvement, and are able to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Job Description:

• Conduct market research to track trends, regulations, and emerging technologies in automotive, defense, off-highway, and related sectors.
• Benchmark competitor products, technologies, partnerships, and pricing trends.
• Map white-space opportunities and underserved applications.
• Monitor potential new geographies and sectors for early-stage opportunity spotting.
• Develop and maintain business development performance reporting, including opportunity creation KPIs, hit rates, and lead quality assessments. Ensure reporting accurately reflects actual customer engagement and opportunity status.
• Collaborate with Strategic Sales and Marketing to support targeted outreach campaigns with data-driven insights.
• Perform end-to-end ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, including acquiring data from multiple sources, cleaning, transforming, and storing it for analysis. Optimize database queries and workflows to improve reporting speed and reliability.
• Build and maintain BI dashboards and other visualization tools to make insights accessible and actionable.
• Present data insights in clear and impactful formats for management review.
• Lead or coordinate ad-hoc data infrastructure and optimization projects (e.g., CRM-ERP integration improvements, dashboard automation, data quality enhancements) in collaboration with IT, Operations, and other departments.
• Support digitalization initiatives within the company.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Master’s degree in Business Administration preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in market intelligence, business analysis, or data engineering roles (manufacturing or OEM supplier experience preferred).
• Hands-on ETL skills – ability to acquire, process, and store data from multiple sources.
• Experience with database management, SQL, and data integration techniques.
• Proficiency in data visualization and dashboard development using Tableau (Power BI knowledge is a plus).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to transform research and data into actionable insights.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Turkish and English.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work cross-functionally on multiple priorities.
